Schwab is recruiting to hire a driven, results-oriented Software Development Engineer who shares our passion for technology, innovation, and excellence. Our main goal at Schwab is to transform people's lives by changing the way the world invests. This role will be a dynamic, cross-skills position including hands-on development, design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines built on GitHub Actions and Workflows The ideal candidate excels in a dynamic, fast-moving environment and is passionate about developing multi-faceted solutions to solve complex, time-critical problems. You will be part of the Delivery Pipeline team and will help design, develop, and support the GitHub platform used by all Schwab Technology teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain multi environment CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions/Workflows

• Integrate tests, security checks, and approvals; improve pipeline speed, observability, and resilience

• Support LaunchDarkly usage (flags, environments, roles/policies, SDK/API integrations)

• Partner across US-India time zones; document patterns and mentor teammates

• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement

What you have

Required Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of professional experience with GitHub (repos, Actions, Workflows, environments, branch protections)

• Strong proficiency with YAML and JavaScript as well as some scripting experience with Bash, PowerShell, or Python

• Strong knowledge of common build tools (Maven/Gradle/NPM)

• 3-5 years of experience working with a server-side language like Java or C# (.NET)

• Experience integrating tests and static/dynamic analysis into pipelines

• Exposure to LaunchDarkly or similar feature flag platforms

• Ability to collaborate across US-India time zones and communicate clearly

• DevOps mindset: automation-first, reliability, observability, and continuous improvement

• Ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with containerized CI/CD jobs and enterprise runner management

• Knowledge of GitHub Advanced Security and secrets management

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (especially GCP) and related technologies like Terraform/Helm/Kubernetes

• Prior contribution to reusable actions/workflow libraries

• Experience refining LaunchDarkly roles/policies and working with vendor support
