    Position summary

The successful candidate will be an expert in designing scalable and maintainable test automation. This individual will work closely with the developers to understand the architecture of the application to best devise how to build reliable, maintainable automated tests. The candidate must be passionate about quality and assist in creating a high-quality culture across the scrum team(s).

    What you have

    Required Qualifications

    • 3+ years of professional experience with a BS degree in Computer Science or a related field, including at least 2 years specifically focused on Test Automation within an Agile environment.

    • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a software development role actively writing and reviewing Java code, demonstrating a solid foundation in programming and code quality.

    • 2+ years of experience working with tools for API testing such as Postman, Insomnia, or Bruno.

    • 2+ years of experience with REST-based APIs and a clear understanding of the concepts involved in RESTful API design and testing.

    • 1+ years of experience with relational databases, preferably Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server.

    • 1+ year of Schwab technology domain experience gained as a current or recent contractor or employee

    • Proven experience assisting in the design and implementation of scalable and maintainable automation frameworks for both UI and API/Service level testing.

    • Experience and working knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, PCF).

    • Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as Jira, Zephyr, and Confluence for project tracking and documentation.

    • Experience with load testing tools (such as JMeter, BlazeMeter, or LoadRunner) and an understanding of performance testing concepts (e.g., P95 percentile response times).

    • Understanding of Clean Code principles, including concepts like DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself) and/or SOLID.

    • Familiarity with Design Patterns commonly used in test automation, such as the Page Object Model, proxy, factory, and data objects.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Evaluates moderately complex problems by analyzing data and spotting trends
    • Experience with document databases such as MongoDB.
    • Experience with cloud-based testing infrastructure tools such as Saucelabs.
    • Understanding of IAS (infrastructure as service) in context of application testing.
    • Experience with SOAP based UIs
