Staff Platform Engineer (PHP)

from monolithic systems to resilient microservices architectures. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enforce advanced SRE practices, optimize code, automate processes, and manage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code. Additionally, you will mentor engineers and serve as a technical advisor, ensuring that the evolving technology stack meets both operational and business objectives.

What you'll be doing

• Collaborating with leadership to define and execute a platform architecture roadmap that aligns with strategic business objectives.

• Driving targeted initiatives to modernize legacy systems and support the transition from monolithic architectures to distributed microservices.

• Leading platform projects from ideation through deployment and ongoing optimization, coordinating cross-team efforts to deliver unified, scalable solutions that align with business objectives.

• Developing, optimizing, and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices for secure, reliable deployments.

• Implementing and enhancing advanced monitoring, alerting, and incident response solutions to ensure high system availability.

• Working closely with cross-functional teams, including SRE, security, and product, to align platform strategies with business goals.

• Establishing and enforcing architectural guidelines and operational best practices to ensure consistency and scalability.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 5+ years of software engineering experience using PHP and Laravel, with 3+ years in platform engineering or similar roles, demonstrating a track record in delivering scalable distributed systems.

• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and proficiency in at least one major cloud provider (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Application of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, including implementing monitoring, alerting, and automation practices to ensure system reliability.

• Proven mentorship and leadership capabilities, effectively guiding engineering teams and promoting cross-team collaboration.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills to drive successful project outcomes.

• A proactive approach to evaluating and integrating emerging technologies to continually enhance system performance and operational efficiency.
