Overview:
As a Digital Design Manager focusing on digital design and verification of wireless PHY and MAC layer IPs and systems for low-power System-on-Chip IoT products, you will join a specialized team of IP/SoC engineers driving multiple wireless communications technologies such as Bluetooth Low-Energy, 802.15.4 Zigbee/Thread, 802.11 Wi-Fi and proprietary short-range wireless.
You will be part of a highly skilled and tight-knit team where everyone can have significant impact on, and responsibility for the end product. The Rennes site is cross functional and therefore you'll be interacting firsthand with software, validation and customer support teams. What You'll Do:
Lead design team through the product development cycle including specifications, technical choices, design, integration, verification
Contribute to define design approaches and flow for design team
Attend design reviews to provide input and monitor the quality and effectiveness of design reviews
Oversee interaction of design team with other disciplines (verification, validation, marketing, applications)
Oversee evaluation of design results by laboratory measurements to assure technical and performance objectives are met
Establish design schedules and ensure they meet corporate requirements
Communicate technical information and schedules to senior members of the management team
Participate in product definition, market studies and business case studies for new products and provides input on future products.
Manage the development of innovative new designs for patenting or protecting as trade secret
Research design techniques through technical publications and seminars.
Provide hands-on technical leadership and training for design staff.
Conduct annual performance reviews of subordinates.
Acts as an advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.
What skills you need:
Master/PhD level degree in Electrical Engineering (Signal Processing background is a plus)
8+ years of professional experience in digital design and verification
Advanced knowledge of digital design and design flows, including RTL design (system Verilog), simulations, integration, implementation
Advanced knowledge of RTL block-level or chip-level verification and FPGA emulation
Advanced understanding of design tradeoffs for performance, power and size
Experience with Matlab or other high-level modeling language/tool for designing and evaluating communication systems and algorithms
Experience with laboratory measurements, some knowledge of RF parameters and constraints is a plus
Knowledge of any scripting language (perl, shell, tcl, python)
Familiarity with quality systems documentation and procedures
Excellent written and verbal communications skills (Fluent English)
