Position summary

OSS projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Manage a team of 3 developer advocates focused on new and upcoming Snowflake OSS tools and offerings (such as Streamlit, Apache Iceberg, Polaris Arctic and others)
  • Build our strategy for engaging with key OSS stakeholders (partners, customers, contributors)
  • Work across Snowflake product and marketing teams to participate in new products and OSS strategies to represent how Developer Relations can best support and amplify these efforts
  • Lead the development of content for OSS community events for Snowflake
  • Be a key member of the team crafting the Snowflake strategy for OSS software
  • Represent the unique needs of OSS contributors and users to Snowflake product marketing and product engineering teams.
  • Represent the Snowflake values in how you operate every day.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • 12 years of experience in technical roles, with 4+ years of experience as a Developer Advocate or developer evangelist

  • Deep understand of an OSS ecosystem (such as Linux/Apache/CNCF)

  • Experience working with one or more OSS projects as a participant in product development, community creation or marketing.

  • Experience leading a team of developers, developer advocates or the equivalent

  • Ability to effectively partner with OSS community members, from partners to customers to standards bodies

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to a technical audience across various form factors, including written (blogs, technical how to articles, documentation), video (YouTube and webinars) in-person speaking (events, MeetUps) and through sample code (GitHub, notebooks, demo applications). And understand how to choose the right form factor for the target audience and desired outcomes.

  • Understanding of how app developers build applications with data at the core (such as Data engineering, AI/ML, cloud-native apps, notebooks)

  • Technical degree or equivalent experience

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $190,000 - $270,900.

  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
