    Position summary

    As a Product Marketing Manager at Sonatype, you'll define the story for how enterprises securely consume and govern open-source software at scale. You'll build messaging that resonates with developers, DevSecOps engineers, and CISOs, highlighting how our solutions simplify the way they work with open source components, containers, and AI/ML models while helping organizations adopt a "shift-left" approach by protecting against open-source malware and supply chain threats from entering their CI/CD pipeline.

    You'll join a dynamic team that's elevating our market presence through impactful messaging, engaging sales enablement, and strategic content creation. To succeed, you'll leverage AI tools daily-enhancing research, content creation, competitive intelligence, and campaign execution to move faster and deliver greater impact.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Go-to-Market Leadership

    • Help define positioning, messaging, and GTM strategy for Sonatype's software supply chain security solutions.

    • Partner with Product Management to align on roadmap priorities for future product line extensions (e.g. agentic AI, free-to-paid business models, and more) -using AI to analyze market demand, competitor moves, and emerging threat trends.

    • Define value propositions that resonate with developer and security audiences.

    • Coordinate and manage product launches, ensuring cross-functional alignment and strong market impact.

    • Partner with the broader Marketing team to design and execute integrated campaigns that drive demand both for new customers and for expansion within our existing installed base.

    • AI-Enhanced Content & Storytelling

    • Use AI technology to research and produce solution briefs, sales decks, website content, webinars, video content, and whitepapers.

    • Build and continuously refresh thought leadership around open-source risk and software supply chain resilience-combining AI-driven insights with your own expertise.

    • Optimize Sonatype's web presence with clear, differentiated product messaging that supports discovery and conversion.

    • Serve as an evangelist for Sonatype solutions at events, webinars, and in industry media.

    • Sales & Customer Enablement

    • Develop AI-assisted enablement tools (battlecards, competitive tear-downs, objection handling guides, demo scripts).

    • Help train Sales and Customer Success teams to position our products effectively against competitors.

    • Market & Competitive Intelligence

    • Monitor evolving threat vectors and competitive offerings in the software supply chain security market.

    • Use AI to process large data sets (malware incidents, package statistics, regulatory updates) into actionable market intelligence.

    Qualification

    • Required

    • 3+ years in enterprise SaaS Product Marketing of cybersecurity or developer products.

    • Demonstrated experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Jasper, Perplexity, AI-driven analytics platforms) as a core part of your professional workflow.

    • Excellent storytelling and communication skills across technical and executive audiences.

    • Ability to work independently, with strong collaboration skills in working with cross-functional, international teams and customers.

    • Experience working in fast-paced environments and flexible to work with teams across various time zones.

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    • Preferred

    • 5+ years in enterprise SaaS Product Marketing of developer tools.

    • Experience marketing AppSec, DevSecOps, or Security & Compliance solutions.

    • Prior success positioning a technical product against well-established competitors.

    • Resides in either EST or CST time zones

    • Pragmatic Marketing certified
