DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pick orders from inventory
Unload, move, and store materials.
Utilize manual lifts, reach trucks, and transfer equipment (requires applicable safety and operational training)
Store and stack materials according to company standards
Identify and verify parts
Report inventory shortages and recommend new orders
Remove damaged materials from stock
Operate RF scanners and other hand-held devices
Communicate with the sales projects team to determine to turn around for delivery of materials to the customer site.
Kit orders together, per customer's instructions.
Label orders, for storage, with customer's name, job site, date of receival, sales order number, item type, and quantity.
Send packing slips to project writers, noting any damage, backorders, missing items.
Receive materials in a timely manner.
Communicate with Transportation, notifying the team of any large orders requiring a dedicated truck or certain equipment i.e: Moffet, liftgate, etc.
Other responsibilities may be assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, and/or a minimum of 6 months related experience working in a warehouse and/or distribution environment.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
At least 6 months working in a warehouse and/or distribution environment, preferred.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
A demonstrated understanding of branch product lines.
Knowledge of shipping and receiving practices.
Strong organization and prioritization skills.
Knowledge of merchandise handling and production methods.
Some knowledge of basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
Ability to effectively communicate.
Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
Must be a team player and abide by QED's strong core values and beliefs.
