Engineering Manager, Conversion (Growth)

to help customers build a unique online presence from the ground up. As the engineering manager you'd have the opportunity to lead teams on both of these surfaces in an experiment-driven way, that is core to helping entrepreneurs getting started on building their business and brand online.

This is a hybrid role working from our NYC office 3 days per week. You will report to the Engineering Director, Growth.

You'll Get To...

• Develop engineers across multiple teams through coaching, mentoring, and feedback

• Coach Team Leads and empower them to support and guide their teams

• Have regular 1-1s with team members, and take an active role in code reviews for team members

• Collaborate with your partners throughout the company to shape the team's roadmap

• Partner with other leaders to influence product, architectural and organizational choices

• Grow the technical expertise and development practices of your teams

Who We're Looking For

• 5+ years of technical leadership experience, including managing a team with direct reports

• Communication and leadership capacity; ability to work with diverse company partners

• Experience building and managing a team of software engineers

• A deep passion for coaching impactful engineering teams

Engineers on Your Team Have

• Expertise in JavaScript, understanding of new ES6 concepts, and proficiency with React or similar user interface libraries.

• Solid knowledge of the DOM, HTML and CSS3

• Experience with Java, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and distributed systems

• Experience with Single Page Application (SPA) development

• Developed features and create fulfilling user experiences

• A sincere commitment to crafting readable and reliable code

Cash Compensation Range: $185,500 - $299,000 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Squarespace employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
