Responsibilities
- Design and build technical BI solutions from concept to implementation in an agile environment
- Participate in the full systems development lifecycle, including providing estimates, gathering BI and reporting requirements, profiling data, establishing designs, building queries and front-end designs, performing code reviews, quality assurance, and deploying solutions
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure backend data structures and semantic layer are designed properly and fit-for-purpose
- Ensure overall reporting solution quality, reliability, and performance
- Provide operational support and maintenance on reporting and BI solutions; Perform incident and problem management, and troubleshooting to resolve issues
- Research data issues, troubleshoot data and performance issues with queries
- Support upgrades, configuration and troubleshooting for BI tools
- Develop and maintain up-to-date documentation
- Track and respond to ad hoc data extracts; evaluate the tracking information to propose new reporting solutions that promote self-service and less reliance on IT
- Keep up with new technologies and trends for continuous improvement
- Comply with data governance policies and standards
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, management information systems, or computer engineering, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience in reporting and BI engineering or related roles
- Experience with one or more BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI)
- Experience creating intuitive user interfaces for decision support
- Experience writing complex SQL Queries
- Hands-on experience in full systems development lifecycle for reporting and BI solutions
- Experience working with relational databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server)
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling.
- Experience with reading stored procedures and modify them
- Proficient in data analysis and analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems
- Demonstrated solid understanding of database design (logical and physical, relational, and dimensional)
- Strong knowledge of Data Lake, Data Warehouse, BI and analytic capabilities, and concepts
- Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and/or external data and processes to answer specific business questions, troubleshoot, and support solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data modelling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with cloud solutions such as GCP, AWS, Microsoft Azure
- Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Tableau
- Experience in statistical analysis packages such as R, and SAS
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in business environments with large scale, complex datasets
- Experience with health care data
- Experience with Agile

At Surescripts, base pay is one part of our Total Rewards Package (which may also include bonus, benefits etc.) and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this position is $104,950 - $128,250 per year. Your base pay may vary within or outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
