What we're looking for

As someone who's opted for a placement within their degree course, you will be looking to start your career as a Software Engineer within 3D CAD software. Your degree must contain a high level of technical content preferably within engineering or computer science. This role is paid, available for one year, and offers a fantastic opportunity to work on world-class, complex software projects in an exciting and varied enterprise environment for industry-leading customers.
What you'll be doing

• Working alongside experienced software engineers in a small, international, agile development team on the next generation of Composites design software
• Creating new solutions to provide efficient and innovative solutions to allow efficient management of the entire Composites design process
• Deeping your knowledge software development in a commercial environment
• Contributing to the NX and NX Composites development environment to support the long-term life of our products
• Acquiring a broad understanding of our products and their application

What you'll bring

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or any related field

• Experience of C++ is preferred, or similar object-orientated software development

• An inquisitive and methodical approach with good attention to detail

• Strong analysis, design and problem-solving ability

• Passion for continuous learning

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Knowledge of software engineering principles

• A passion for creating high-quality software

• An ability to understand and communicate complex technical problems

A knowledge of any of the following would be desirable:

• Agile software development
• 3D geometry
• Composites design and manufacturing processes
• 3D CAD systems
