    • Fluent in English and Japanese.

    • Demonstrates knowledge of storytelling, media relations and social platforms.

    Capabilities

    • Communications - Excellent written and verbal communications skills in Japanese and English. Ability to produce compelling content and develop a wide variety of external and internal communications assets including briefing documents, press releases and support for market lead communications.

    • Media engagement - Proactively builds, manages and maintains relationships with key journalists in Japan. Identifies press opportunities and ensures visibility of Capital Group in national and regional press.

    • Execution excellence: Executes and supports development of media relations strategies for Japan aligned to Capital Group's priorities in the market. Makes decisions both independently and collaboratively. Looks for obstacles and develops contingency plans.

    • Stakeholder management: Build strong partnerships with stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Investment team). Prepare spokespeople for media engagement, provide media insights and support on communicating to associates. Understands the importance of communicating across markets and balancing the needs of local market execution and global priorities.

    • Innovation - Test, learn and iterate. Takes calculated risks and fails forward. Stays current on evolving trends, relevant data and audience behaviors. Encourages diverse thinking and creative problem solving. Suggest new ideas to drive quality coverage and increase brand awareness.

    Working conditions

    N/A - Working conditions for this role are consistent with those found in a normal office environment. Travel may be required.

    In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
