udes management of Azure subscription role access controls, Active Directory, key vaults, Single Sign On, Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), and cryptographic certificates.
Monitor and maintain Azure resources. This includes setting applicable monitoring thresholds and alerts, and ensuring appropriate events are logged. Ensure vulnerability scans are in place, running regularly, and results appropriately acted upon.
Oversee cloud security and threat management. This includes managing Cisco firewalls and site-to-site Virtual Private Network (VPN), Azure's Network Security Groups (NSG), network routing tables, and Domain Name System (DNS).
Manage and monitor backup and recovery systems, including facilitation of an annual disaster recovery exercise.
Act as a product Subject Matter Expert (SME) with other teams across the enterprise and product customers. Respond to inquiries, initiate technical discussions, and actively participate in technical forums.
Create and manage storage accounts. Monitor data utilization and performance. Participate in data destruction activities appropriately.
Proactively monitor system performance and respond to alerts promptly to meet or exceed high availability goals (Datadog, cloud audit trail).
Document system designs and operational procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible (Lucid, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Teams).
Participate in the evaluation of emerging technologies and tools, recommending solutions that drive innovation and technical excellence.
Leverage AI/ML technologies to enhance automation, improve system diagnostics, and optimize operational workflows.
Implement security measures and compliance protocols to safeguard our systems and data.
Provide troubleshooting and technical support.
Collaborate with software development, QA, and product teams to align requirements and expedite software releases (Datadog Synthetics, Selenium).
Effectively articulate complex problems, concepts, and solutions to varied audiences.
Drive improvements in productivity, quality, and reliability.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Azure Cloud Engineer (SRE) if your background includes:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, Computer Science or related technical degree preferred.
3 years of relevant experience in software development and/or technology infrastructure and operations.
Experience managing Azure cloud infrastructure services with proven success in the following areas:
Strong working knowledge in sizing, deploying, and automating VM creation and management in a high-availability environment.
Ability to quickly and effectively react to daily threats from external and internal sources.
Strong organizational and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, facilitate discussions, obtain consensus, and resolve conflicts.
Ability to treat confidential information with appropriate discretion.
Proven analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
A strong drive to learn and apply new technologies as industry trends and best practices evolve in the Cloud Engineering and Site Reliability spaces.
