    Position summary

    This results in products and solutions that align to the most important needs of its clients and are successful by both customer and business measures.

    As Head of Product Marketing, you will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and lead a centralized Product Marketing function consisting of ~150 people. You will partner closely with Product, Segment, Sales and Marketing leadership and help create a world-class function by identifying key capability gaps and opportunities across the team and developing strategies and programs to elevate the function and position Thomson Reuters as a place where the best Product Marketing talent comes to build their careers and make an impact.

    Key Responsibilities

    Leadership

    • Partner with Product Management, marketing organization and business segments to align on growth targets, marketing priorities and go-to-market planning; work cross-functionally to drive revenue growth and achieve shared objectives.

    • Develop marketing plans and budgets in line with strategy and business objectives. Concretely demonstrate the value of marketing investments; use data to adjust and optimize spend and focus.

    • Develop methodologies and repeatable standard practices that establishes excellence in product marketing.

    • Develop high-value product marketing tools and set and monitor key product marketing metrics.

    • Lead and motivate a high-performing agile product marketing team; support career development and succession planning.

    Lead inbound product marketing to inform and influence product strategy

    • Identify and synthesize qualitative and quantitative feedback on products from clients and partners and share a clear voice of customer to product, design, and technology teams.

    • Work closely with sales, retention and customer support teams to gather all the information required in order for product to make product strategy decisions.

    • Provide prioritization from customers to product management.

    • Inform and influence product strategy in partnership with product management and technology teams and establish and drive inbound product marketing processes with segment and subsegment customer teams.

    • Identify long-term market opportunities based on research and strategic analysis of our customers and the industries they serve.

    Define value propositions

    • Consolidate insights from customers, competitors and the market to ensure our product strategies and value propositions reflect those needs.

    • Build a trusted partnership with product and business leaders to influence the product roadmap to deliver on customer needs.

    • Partner with Product Management and Commercial Strategy on pricing; create offerings and bundles that meet unique subsegment needs.

    Articulate positioning and differentiation

    • Use effective storytelling techniques to distill positioning into a simple, differentiated message that is customer and outcome focused. Serve as a product evangelist externally and internally.

    • Ensure our product positioning and messaging differentiates our product portfolio in the marketplace, resonates with our target customers and is in support of our broader company vision and objectives.

    • Collaborate with sales leadership to translate core product value propositions into sales channel collateral and collaborate with internal and external creative partners to drive the creation of those materials.

    Bring solutions to market and enable sales

    • Plan and coordinate the launch of new product releases, across segments and/or customer markets, and lead cross-functional execution against that plan.

    • Manage product alpha and beta programs in collaboration with product management and provide direction to product refinements and identify critical customer needs to meet prior to full scale launch.

    • Create a cadence for ongoing marketing and post-launch marketing activities.

    Location

    While the preferred location for this role is in one of our hubs in Dallas, Minneapolis, New York, Ann Arbor or Toronto, we are also open to a remote arrangement for the right candidate. Should the candidate be based in one of our hub locations, they will work in a hybrid environment, spending 3 days a week in office.

    Candidate Profile

    The ideal candidate for this role possesses the following qualifications:

    • 15+ years in Product Marketing or related roles in a technology business (ideally software/SaaS), including 5+ years leading and building world-class Product Marketing teams.

    • Strong communication and presentation skills to inspire peers, senior management, executive leadership and/or board of directors.

    • Demonstrated ability to understand commercial, technological and strategic drivers in order to build and execute multi-year strategy.

    • Significant industry experience driving growth across a large portfolio of products and solutions.

    • Demonstrated prior experience setting and driving successful delivery of complex product marketing campaigns.

    • Experience successfully leading cross-functional agile teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies and multi-channel marketing programs.

    • Proven ability to establish a broad vision and take ideas from concept through to successful release.

    • Ability to understand and interpret fundamental workings and trends within a target industry.

    • Proficiency in product commercialization and marketing.

    • Proven ability to lead and manage a physical or virtual team and develop and grow organizational talent.

    • Proven success attracting, developing and retaining high quality talent.

    • Excellent negotiation, problem solving and conflict management skills

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, MBA preferred.

    Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The location(s) for this role include one or more of the following metro locations: Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, Washington, DC. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $252,000 - $378,000. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
