r Specialist Legal Editor position is to research, write, edit, publish and update on-line content for Practical Law's labor and employment subscribers. Our content includes practice guidance notes, checklists, and standard forms, all of which are written in accordance with Practical Law's unique writing style.
About the Role
In addition, the Senior Specialist Legal Editor will:
Collaborate with the other editors on Practical Law's Labor & Employment Service to peer review, improve, and organize newly-written content, as well as plan for and organize future content needs and priorities;
Coordinate and collaborate with other Practical Law editorial teams on content planning and creation, as well as on other Practical Law and Thomson Reuters initiatives;
Establish and maintain relationships with lawyers who specialize in labor and employment law and can contribute new content for Practical Law to publish;
Write and edit content for Practical Law's companion print magazine, Practical Law - The Journal ;
Stay informed of current developments and issues relating to labor and employment law and practice to ensure timely updates to existing content and the development of new content;
Develop relationships with labor and employment lawyers to ensure that our content is topical and meets the needs of labor and employment law practitioners;
Organize and/or conduct webinars on topics of interest for labor and employment lawyers, as requested;
Assist with sales demonstrations and marketing initiatives, as requested; and
Assist with other Thomson Reuters products in which Practical Law is foundational, as requested.
About You
You're a fit for this role if you have:
Qualifications:
Very close attention to detail;
Excellent command of grammar, punctuation, and plain English; and
The ability to write about complex legal issues clearly and simply.
Expertise in any of the following a plus: wage and hour litigation, labor union representation, employment-related due diligence in M&A transactions, workers' compensation issues, unemployment compensation issues, and/or federal contractor issues.
Candidates selected for a second interview will be required to submit a writing sample.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.
Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and/or Irvine, CA; McLean, VA; Washington, DC. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $134,680 - $250,120.
For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $116,900 - $217,100.
This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
