Backend Tech Lead (Risk Systems) - TikTok BRIC (Singapore)

Responsibilities

• Work on infrastructure and tools to enable construction, deployment, and serving of risk defence algorithms and machine learning models at scale. Improve capacities of risk prevention, perception and remediation across various TikTok businesses.
• Build tools and automated procedures to support risk analytics and defence enforcement.
• Keep risk control solutions state-of-art on fronts of data security, modularisation, privacy and compliance. Help improve end-to-end risk service/platform/tooling SLA.
• Lead technical direction for cross-team initiatives and mentor engineers in best practices for risk infrastructure and tooling.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor or degrees above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Programming Language, High Performance Computing, Security Research or other relevant majors.
• Solid coding skills and experience with building distributed systems. Proficiency in one or more tools of Linux, Spark, Flink, Kubernetes; can quickly pick up others.
• Strong industry experience in building distributed backend systems at scale. Proven track record in solving infrastructure pain-points (e.g., complex I/O requirements). Strong coding (backend, infra, algorithm) and system design ability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bonus given to familiarity with machine learning infrastructure or applications, or social/content platform realtime stream computing systems.
• Bonus given to proficient user of Go or Rust.
• Consistently showing ownership. Proactive and skillful in communication.
• Experience from a large-scale internet business, especially in a leadership or high-impact engineering role.
