About the role
The success of TikTok's data business model hinges on the supply of a large volume of high quality labeled data that will grow exponentially as our business scales up. However, the current cost of data labeling is excessively high. The Content Understanding Manager focuses on ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in both operations and cross-functional project management, helping to bridge teams and driving progress.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery

• Lead end-to-end data labeling projects, working closely with stakeholders to capture requirements, track progress, and manage resources for timely delivery.
• Facilitate cross-functional project coordination, ensuring alignment with business goals and maintaining project roadmaps.
• Monitor and report on project KPIs, performance metrics, and blockers to leadership.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

• Serve as the primary liaison between Data Understanding Specialists, technical teams, and business stakeholders, ensuring clear and efficient collaboration.
• Communicate project updates, risks, and resource needs to leadership and cross-functional partners.

Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

• Optimize workflows, tools, and systems to enhance labeling efficiency, data quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline data operations and decision-making.
• Encourage a mindset of continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and above
• At least 2 years of relevant working experience
• Proven experience in managing projects within an operation team setting
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively work with both internal teams and external stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an emphasis on data-driven decision-making
