The Trust & Safety (T&S) team at TikTok helps ensure that our global online community is safe and empowered to create and enjoy content across all of our applications. We have invested heavily in human and machine-based moderation to remove harmful content quickly and often before it reaches our general community.

    About the team
    As a Program Manager in the Core Safety team, you will own and manage cross-functional programs aimed at solving complex and highly cross functional problems. This role will have the opportunity to work on both new features in Bytedance's portfolio of emerging products, and also drive programs within TikTok. You will need to engage and manage key stakeholders, align them to a common vision, assign clear roles and responsibilities, and drive programs towards program goals.

    Responsibilities
    What will I be doing?

    • Collaborate with Product Managers, Policy Managers and Operations teams to develop and implement safety strategies that align with the overall product vision and roadmap, and build processes for optimised efficiency and productivity
    • Drive the planning, execution, and successful completion of safety-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
    • Support the development and maintenance of safety policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring they are up to date and effectively communicated to relevant stakeholders.
    • Define project goals, objectives, and success criteria, and establish project milestones, timelines, and resource allocation
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business teams, Engineering, Legal, Data Science, and Policy, to gather requirements, drive project execution, and ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Monitor and track project progress, proactively identify and address any issues or roadblocks, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
    • Collaborate with the Product Manager to define and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of safety strategies and initiatives.
    • Stay updated with emerging trends, technologies, and industry standards related to user safety and security, and leverage this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation in safety practices.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • At least 3 years of proven experience as a Programme Manager, preferably in the Trust and Safety domain or a related field.
    • Experience collaborating with Product Managers and cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment
    • Experience working with large-scale platforms, preferably in areas related to user-generated content, online communities, or social media

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Good understanding of safety strategies, risk management, and compliance frameworks within the technology industry.
    • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
    • Proactive mindset with a passion for user safety and security, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
