Responsibilities
- Oversee Risk Prevention, Risk Detection, Risk Containment, Legal Policy Operations and Digital Rights functions and lead a team of regional as well as global leaders.
- Lead strategic plans and partner with Trust and Safety leadership to foster trust and respond to evolving societal needs.
- Anticipate regional/in-market risks and manage planned high risk events and unforeseen crises. Proactively identify emerging trends and user experience gaps, and implement technology-driven, preventative measures and action plans, including improving tools/policies/workflows/systems.
- Enforce containment strategies for risks identified and respond to escalations effectively to minimize reputational damage and real harm to users and societies.
- Drive your team toward developing and executing intellectual property and privacy protection strategies.
- Foster trusted partnership with external stakeholders (government agencies, regulators and law enforcement). Engage with them with professionalism and reliability to ensure their understanding of our principled approach to trust and safety.
- Build strong partnerships with cross functional teams (broader T&S teams, Public Policy, Communications, Product and Legal). Ensure clear communication on insights & actions, especially during large-scale requests, crises, escalations, or government inquiries.
- Anticipate and manage organisational resource needs. Develop a high performing team.
- Support strategic communication and reporting. Oversee the creation of executive reports, organizational updates & presentations that drive alignment and accountability.
- This role will involve frequent international travel. We are open to the location of this role.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experienced leader in business transformation and complex project coordination with at least ten years in people management within the global technology or internet industry. Demonstrated an exceptional ability to leverage technology to solve complex problems and provide innovative solutions.
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams, including managing managers. Demonstrated ability to navigate and integrate diverse cultural perspectives, fostering collaboration and building strong relationships in a global environment.
- Clear level of knowledge and expertise across Online Regulation, specific to content and safety in Europe and globally, including the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the Online Safety Bill.
- Extensive experience in management of global complex program management, strategic planning, business process improvement, performance management, and/or change management.
- Proven ability to lead and scale diverse, cross-functional teams, spanning high-urgency, 24/7 operational functions to highly technical, analytical teams.
- Navigate complexity with ease, providing strategic direction, fostering collaboration across varied functions. Bringing a proven ability to rapidly identify problems, thoroughly analyze them, then develop and deliver pragmatic solutions.
- Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills. Adept at handling sensitive information and situations with discretion and confidence. Highly entrepreneurial self-starter with the ability to react well under pressure and ambiguity. Proactively anticipates and responds to opportunities and problems before others notice them.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience directly in Trust & Safety or a comparable technical field or complex global org. Where you have worked with regulatory bodies, compliance frameworks, and global risk governance structures.
- Adept at crafting impactful presentations with actionable data insights, and delivering strategic recommendations that drive business outcomes.
- Advanced degree in Business, Risk Management, Public Policy, or a related field is preferred.

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $234000 - $480000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
