    Position summary

    • Lead crisis management on critical public policy issues in Malaysia by monitoring political and social events, assessing risks, and preparing the team for regulatory challenges. Provide executive leadership on complex engagements, drive resolution, and coordinate mitigation efforts with cross-functional teams and senior officials to protect TikTok Shop policy interests.

    • Leverage strong relationships with senior officials, regulators, ministers, civil society, and academia to represent TikTok Shop at top policymaking levels and strategic partnership, effectively communicating its perspectives and influencing key legislative and regulatory discussions.

    • Act as a subject matter expert on emerging policy issues, identifying risks and opportunities in tech regulation and platform governance. Simplify complex challenges into clear insights, ensuring strategic alignment across teams.

    • Represent TikTok Shop at industry events, trade associations, and coalition meetings. Build and maintain a strong network of public interest groups, industry associations, and academics to ensure the voice voice is included in key policy discussions and initiatives.

    • Collaborate with Trust & Safety, Governance & Experience, Communications, Monetisation Integrity, Legal, LERT, and Public Policy teams, amongst others, to develop and integrate key policy initiatives. Provide strategic guidance on policy and regulatory developments in Malaysia, ensuring cross-functional alignment on risks and business implications.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Degree or Masters Degree in Social Science / Business Administration / Public Policy

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Masters in Business Administrations / Communications / E-Commerce
    • Strong network with various Ministries and Government Agencies both at State and Federal level
