The Trust & Safety (T&S) team at TikTok helps ensure that our global online community is safe and empowered to create and enjoy content across all of our applications. We have invested heavily in human and machine-based moderation to remove harmful content quickly and often before it reaches our general community.

    It is possible that this role will be exposed to harmful content as part of the core role/as part of project/ in response to escalation requests/by chance.
    This may occur in the form of images, video, and text related to every-day life, but it can also include (but is not limited to) bullying; hate speech; child safety; depictions of harm to self and others, and harm to animals.

    About the Role
    As a Law Enforcement Outreach Manager, you will be the liaison officer to strategic law enforcement agencies in North East Asia, with a specific focus on Japan in addition to South Korea. This position would entail frequent travel to countries in the APAC region.

    Responsibilities

    • You'll work closely with legal and public policy teams to develop key partnerships between TikTok and strategic law enforcement agencies with a focus on Internet safety and security.
    • You'll develop proactive outreach programs to law enforcement agencies in APAC, to raise awareness on TikTok processes such as submissions of emergency data disclosure requests, other requests relating to data, and TikTok's policies for protecting user privacy and responding to legal requests.
    • You'll support child safety and emergency response teams, and coordinate with internal investigation teams to develop referral processes to law enforcement agencies.
    • You'll work closely with our internal legal team and external counsel in responding to governmental requests for data.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Experienced in working or engaging with law enforcement authorities at an international level.
    • At least 5+ years of work experience in the safety/security field, and/or as an analyst or investigator with a safety, law enforcement, or security focus.
    • Experience with global privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially those relevant for social media and Internet companies.
    • Background in law enforcement or government investigations, particularly in cybercrime investigations, and experience in business administration or program management would be an added advantage.
    • Full proficiency in English and Japanese is required as this role will be covering the Japan and Northeast Asia markets. Proficiency in Korean is an added bonus.

    Preferred qualifications

    • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
    • Ability to frequently travel within the APAC region.
    • Your ability to work in a high tempo environment, adapt, respond to day-to-day challenges of the role.
