    Position summary

    ks, and accordingly develop appropriate safety policies, guidelines and strategies. To do so, you will partner with cross-functional stakeholders across the product, engineering, research, legal teams and so forth to innovate and define safety approaches based on leading industry practices and latest market trends. Your work will be critical in shaping AI initiatives and ensuring content safety on our platforms

    Responsibilities

    • Support the safe and responsible development of Tako, an AI-powered tool that enhances search and discovery on TikTok, by assessing risks and designing mitigations, including policy enforcement frameworks, for the deployment of new features
    • Work closely with cross-functional partners and internal experts to understand emerging trends or risks and drive the implementation of solutions.
    • Provide prompt and professional input from the user safety perspective to support associated product feature launches.
    • Cultivate a deep understanding of Chatbot features, and enforcement requirements to support the development, launch and training of effective GenAI policies, guidance and safety strategies.
    • Work closely with product teams to promote community well-being and user safety through optimization of product safety features and product strategy.
    • Conduct research into Trust and Safety best practices and analyze existing policies and procedures to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or conflicts and develop solutions to resolve.
    • Partner with product, engineering, research, ops, legal, and PR teams to innovate our safety approaches based on the latest developments and best practices.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualification(s):

    • 5+ years of hands-on experience working in the technology industry, including at least 2 in this domain with exposure to model training, product policy development, program management, and/or risk assessment.
    • Hands-on experience with domain expertise in GenAI, with proven experience in handling sensitive and sometimes graphic material.
    • Experience in defining the search domain and space, and in developing deep and trusted partnerships with cross-functional teams.
    • Demonstrated experience with a systematic thought process regarding policy, and experienced in working cross-functionally with Product, Data Science, Operations, and R&D to monitor key safety metrics.
    • Experienced in verbal and written communication, with the ability to articulate and defend a policy position (such as in high-risk escalations) and lead toward consensus.

    Preferred Qualification(s):

    • Proven ability to develop sound research methodologies, and to collect, synthesize, analyze, and interpret data.
    • Strong project management skills, with the ability to drive and manage the simultaneous delivery of complex projects in collaboration with stakeholder teams, while influencing across all levels and working across different time zones and cultures.
