    Responsibilities

    • Inquiry Case Handling: Own end-to-end handling of regulatory inquiries assigned to the Inquiry Program, from intake and triage through response drafting, stakeholder coordination, and closure. Maintain accurate case documentation, track deadlines, and ensure regulatory commitments are met on time. Surface patterns and gaps from cases to inform compliance improvements and program reporting.
    • Regulatory Response Coordination: Serve as the operational lead for coordinating responses to inquiries from data protection authorities, government agencies, and oversight bodies. Work closely with Legal and Policy to ensure responses are accurate, consistent, and aligned with TikTok's regulatory positions. Support preparation of formal submissions, evidence packages, and follow-up correspondence.
    • Program and Project Execution: Drive execution of priority workstreams within the Inquiry Program, including process improvement initiatives, inquiry framework development, and cross-functional alignment projects. Manage timelines, coordinate across teams, and keep stakeholders informed of progress and blockers.
    • Compliance Risk and Process Improvement: Identify process gaps and systemic risks surfaced through inquiry handling. Collaborate with PDPO colleagues and cross-functional partners to improve inquiry workflows, escalation paths, and internal controls. Contribute to reducing regulatory and reputational risk through better operational design.
    • Insights and Knowledge Management: Synthesize inquiry data and case learnings into structured reporting for leadership and global stakeholders. Support the team's knowledge management function, including fact libraries, case precedent tracking, and internal briefing materials.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Minimum three years of experience in regulatory affairs, privacy compliance, legal operations, or a related field, with direct exposure to managing regulatory inquiries, government requests, or enforcement-adjacent matters
    • Solid understanding of privacy and data protection frameworks, including GDPR, DSA, or equivalent, and how they apply to platform companies.
    • Excellent written communication skills in English, including experience drafting or coordinating regulatory submissions, compliance reports, or formal correspondence; Bilingual fluency in Mandarin is necessary to communicate with Mandarin speaking stakeholders based in Mainland China
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple active cases and workstreams simultaneously, under tight deadlines and with competing priorities
    • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with external scrutiny; able to exercise sound judgment on when to escalate and how to communicate risk

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with internet platform products, data practices, and the regulatory landscape for large-scale consumer technology platforms is a plus
    • Experience working cross-functionally with Legal, Policy, and Engineering teams is strongly preferred
    • Knowledge and exposure to minor safety, digital health, AI topics would be a plus.

    The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $111600 - $235600 annually.

    Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

    Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location.
