Senior Backend Engineer, TikTok Creation Platform

m is responsible for the content creation entry points of TikTok. As a backend team, we work together with the product team and other cross-functional teams, to explore the next ear of TikTok including new formats (e.g. photo mode, text mode), to build a trusted platform with privacy and security, and to drive the evolution of TikTok infrastructures including the next-gen data model, and ultimately support TikTok to become an awesome app.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• BS/MS Degree in Computer Science or related major, with 5+ years of working experience.
• Experienced in building backend services for large-scale consumer-facing applications or a good understanding of business
• Proficient in at least one of the following languages or other related ones: Java, Go, C++, Python.
• Deep understanding of computer architectures, data structures, and algorithms.
• Have good team communication and collaboration skills.
• Responsible, self-motivated, and have a growth mindset.

Bonus if you:

• Proficient in English speaking and writing
• Hold a high bar for code quality and style
• Have an SRE mindset and understand the stability and extensibility of a system
• Good at cross-functional communications

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $194000 - $355000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
