- Own and coordinate Mexico tax compliance for financial related products, including VAT, withholding taxes (WHT), and digital platform tax obligations.
- Support the design, review, and monitoring of end-to-end tax flows for financial transactions, including fund flows, settlement mechanics, and reconciliation with Finance, Accounting and Treasury.
- Review and validate invoicing flows (CFDI), tax calculations, and reporting logic for PIPO transactions, working closely with internal Product, Engineering, and external vendors (e.g., invoicing and PSP providers).
- Liaise with external advisors to ensure tax alignment.
- Implementation and monitoring of Mexican digital platform tax rules, including seller/creator withholding frameworks, reporting obligations, and operational readiness.
- Support interactions with Mexican tax authorities (SAT), including responding to information requests, validations, and audits related to Mexican activities.
- Identify tax risks and operational gaps in internal processes and propose scalable, compliant solutions.
- Monitor and analyze tax judicial and administrative precedents that impact the company's operations and financial positions.
- Provide support for ad hoc tax matters, i.e. product launches.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification(s)
- 5 years of relevant experience in a large Multinational Corporation or professional firm, with a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Law.
- Solid understanding of Mexican VAT and withholding tax rules, specifically those applicable to financial services, digital platforms, and payment models.
- Proven experience working with transactional tax data, performing reconciliations, and managing large volumes of operational data.
- Ability to translate complex tax requirements into operational processes for non-tax teams, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong oral and written English communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- A Team Player with a "Hands On" profile and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and diverse environment.
Preferred Qualification(s)
- Experience supporting fintech, payments, marketplaces, BNPL, or digital platform models in Mexico.
- Proven hands-on experience leading or supporting tax automation projects and initiatives.
- Practical exposure to fund flow analysis and settlement models (including cross-border) from a tax compliance perspective.
- Experience managing and supporting tax audits in the region.
- Familiarity with Transfer Pricing is an advantage.
- Possessing a relevant professional certification in Accounting or Law.
