Tech Lead, TikTok MultiMedia Data Platform

responsible for building a scalable, reliable and cost-efficient data pipeline and data warehouse for the multimedia domain. We build valuable data products on top of the data platform to enable data scientists and machine learning engineers to make data-driven strategy decisions to drive user experience optimization and cost savings.

We are looking for a tech lead to be responsible for building and leading the TikTok MultiMedia data platform team. You are responsible for business and tech planning, architecture design, cross-team collaboration. You will have the opportunity to partner closely with globalized engineering and product teams in a high-impact and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Tech Lead the TikTok MutliMedia data platform team.
2. Set the product vision and strategy with product and business teams, and oversee the engineering roadmap.
3. Collaborate with relevant teams to do business and technical planning.
4. Manage project priorities and product deliveries. Drive technical initiatives from execution to delivery.
5. Build a productive R&D process.

Qualifications

1. BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other relevant majors
2. 5+ years of software engineering experience in a big data environment
3. 2+ years of tech lead experience.
4. Great expertise in Apache big data systems, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Flink, Clickhouse, etc
5. Great product sense and prioritization skills
6. Strong communication skills and collaboration skills
7. Excellent programming, debugging, and optimization skills in one or more general-purpose programming languages including, but not limited to: Java, Scala, Python.
8. Ability to think critically and formulate solutions to problems in a clear and concise way.
9. Open source committee will be a plus

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $224000 - $4100000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
