- Partner with other TikTok Shop Data Science teams in South East Asia, Data Engineering teams globally, and other GNE Data Science teams across the world.
- Improve data accessibility for GNE governance and experience teams; increasing data understanding, improving dashboard availability and insight, etc
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Develop and implement data-driven decision-making frameworks across the SEA GNE organization. Translate complex data insights into actionable strategies and recommendations for senior management.
- Team Management & Development: Recruit, train, and mentor a team of data scientists and analysts. Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other departments (e.g., marketing, sales, product development) to ensure alignment on strategic goals and data-driven initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Substantial data and analytics experience: Master's degree or above in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics) or a related field with significant data science experience. An PhD or MBA is a plus.
- 5+ years of managerial experience in a data science or analytics leadership role, with a proven track record of success in driving business growth through data-driven insights.
• Expertise in various statistical modeling techniques, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization tools.
• Proficient in SQL/Hive/Python or R, experienced in massive data manipulation, machine learning & modeling
• Solid technical & knowledge of A/B testing methodologies, can consistently explore and find the best practice
• Insightful data sense and rigorous logical mindset, capable of providing systematic approaches to solve business problems
- Strong business orientation: Deep understanding of the SEA e-commerce market, including its unique cultural, economic, and technological landscape. SEA e-commerce experience recommended but not required.

- Ability to operate effectively as part of international team: Cross-regional cooperation will be critical, as part of global GNE Data Science, Strategy, and Insight team. Work to leverage global best practices, customize for South East Asia & Japan markets, and further pilot new projects for global role out.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Detail-orientated operational perspective: Governance and Experience teams are responsible for a variety of policies and operations across a large e-commerce marketplace. While the Data Science, Strategy, and Insight team does not directly own these policies, developing a deep understanding of the various operations is critical to success in this role, becoming a thought partner to leaders is critical.
