    At the Data Cycling Center (DCC), we are at the forefront of powering AI solutions through our expertise in data acquisition. We specialize in providing high-quality labeled data, such as videos and images, to data science teams, enabling them to train and refine machine learning models. Our innovative approach includes crowdsourced labeling, engaging everyday people in the crucial task of labeling data, thus democratizing the process of building advanced machine models for the future.

    Role Overview
    We are on the lookout for a Business Analyst with a visionary approach to lead two pivotal crowdsourcing initiatives: Simplifying and Gamifying labeling tasks. The goal is to enhance accessibility for labelers and transform labeling into an engaging and rewarding activity. This vital role demands a candidate who excels in analytical thinking, possesses a knack for creative problem-solving, and harbors deep empathy for user experience.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Task Analysis and Simplification

    1. Conduct thorough analyses of current labeling tasks to identify complexity factors and bottlenecks that may deter potential labelers;
    2. Simplify labeling processes by redesigning task workflows, ensuring clarity and ease of understanding for users of all backgrounds.

    Data Analysis and A/B Testing

    1. Utilize data analytics tools to evaluate the effectiveness of existing labeling tasks and processes, identifying areas for improvement based on user engagement and task completion rates;
    2. Design and execute A/B tests for different labeling task formats, workflows, and instructional designs to determine the most effective approaches for user participation and data quality;
    3. Analyze test results to make informed decisions on task design and process optimizations, continuously iterating based on data-driven insights.

    Gamification Research and Design

    1. Investigate current trends and best practices in gamification, drawing insights from gaming, psychology, and educational fields to enhance user engagement and satisfaction;
    2. Design and propose gamification elements, such as point systems, badges, leaderboards, and challenges, to make labeling tasks more engaging and rewarding.

    Documentation and Reporting

    1. Create comprehensive documentation that outlines the methodologies, tools, and criteria used in task simplification, data analysis, A/B testing, and gamification efforts;
    2. Prepare detailed reports on the outcomes of analysis and testing initiatives, including insights on user engagement, task completion efficiency, and overall process improvements;
    3. Communicate findings, recommendations, and progress updates regularly to stakeholders, including project managers, data science teams, and executive leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment with broader organizational goals.

    Qualifications

    1. Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications, Psychology, UI/UX or a related field; or equivalent experience in instructional design, technical writing, or simplification of complex processes;
    2. Experience in creating user-friendly content, guidelines, or training materials;
    3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a flair for breaking down complex information;
    4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
    5. Experience with Dashboarding, SQL and Python;

    Preferred:

    1. A creative thinker with an empathetic understanding of user experience and engagement;
    2. Experience with crowdsourcing platforms or community-driven projects is a plus.
