Responsible for leading a team to protect the assets of the Company including associates, visitors, and property to minimize loss. Provides daily guidance to the Loss Prevention staff and the facility's operations team in the core responsibilities of safety, physical security, operational compliance, shrink mitigation, and theft resolution. Represents the Loss Prevention team in the absence of the Loss Prevention Manager. Adheres to Company policies and maintains and supports Company culture and values.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Supervision of Loss Prevention Staff and/or Responsibilities
Supervises a staff, including third-party personnel, to effectively execute all Loss Prevention policies and procedures, and programs related to safety, physical security, shrink mitigation, theft resolution and operational compliance.
Oversees the day-to-day activities within the Loss Prevention Department and ensures execution of core Loss Prevention responsibilities.
Provides teaching, coaching, and mentoring to staff and facility team in loss prevention related areas.
Safety and Physical Security
Takes a leadership role in critical incidents, evacuations, emergency response situations, and effectively communicates to appropriate leaders.
Supports facility safety programs and promotes awareness to associates and business partners.
Ensures team's execution of safety and security responsibilities, supporting resolutions as needed.
Supports safety training as needed.
Oversees and maintains physical security standards and alarm systems, including camera, burglar, fire protection, and life safety systems, working with vendors to resolve functionality issues.
Supports operations team with the accuracy and efficiency of the trailer yard.
Handles physical security compliance in workplace violence incidents.
Communicates relevant loss prevention related concerns to Loss Prevention Manager or appropriate facility management.
Manages capital projects as needed.
Shrink Mitigation and Theft Resolution
Understands key metrics and works closely with operations leaders to identify exposures, mitigating shrink and damages.
Collaborates with operations partners to drive inventory accuracy through education and associate recognition initiatives.
Encourages a culture of honesty by actively promoting shrink awareness and other Company programs.
Builds and maintains effective relationships with Human Resources, Operations, Labor Union, Field Loss Prevention, and third-party partners to support the resolution of fact-finding investigations.
Manages comprehensive theft investigations strategy to point of case resolution with the support of Loss Prevention Manager and Human Resources Business Partners.
Leads team to implement strategic and innovative techniques to optimize efforts to include theft investigations.
Ensures accurate and timely reporting and documentation to Loss Prevention Manager and in case management program.
Develops Talent and Effective Teams
Recruits, hires, retains, develops, and manages performance of staff.
Executes staffing plans and directs resources to meet the need of the facility.
Ensures staff is focused on their development and grows diverse, high-performing talent for the organization.
Minimum formal education required to perform this job:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience
Minimum job skills required to perform this job:
Ability to lead a team successfully within a facility and remotely
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in fast-paced environment, while leading with a positive and professional demeanor
Ability to make instinctive calls and decisions both collaboratively and independently
Capacity to manage confidential information
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to provide direction to multiple levels of leaders
Schedule flexibility based on business needs including holidays
Minimum experience required to perform this job:
3+ years of loss prevention or related experience, leadership experience preferred

This position has a starting salary range of $61,000.00 to $79,700.00 per year. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
