ily planning operations. You will implement continuous improvement initiatives, lead large scale logistics projects to drive profitable sales, reduce transportation spend, and improve levels of service.
The role is responsible for all effectively managing transportation budgets, operations, and service for the building. You will leverage reporting to identify improvement initiatives and will also be expected to lead the team through the process of prioritizing, designing, and implementing creative solutions.
In addition, you will be responsible for partnering with internal, and external teams, to build strong working relationships that yield tangible results. Along with coaching and developing transportation supervisors and stewarding the timely and effective planning of outbound deliveries that your location is responsible for.
Responsibilities:
Consistently deliver on key performance indicators around safety, service consistency, quality, capacity, and cost
Collaboratively drive the business, working with partners from across the company (Service Centers, Store Operations, Distribution Services, Finance, Loss Prevention)
Manage carrier performance, recognizing and celebrating wins, as well as holding them accountable when performance does not meet expectations
Support growth by optimizing existing logistics flow as well as incorporating new store openings and dedicated solutions into existing network footprint
Manage the scheduling and on-time delivery of 200+ cross dock loads, across 30+ lanes weekly
Manage the scheduling and ensure on-time delivery of 300+ weekly store shipment
Plan and communicate the truck capacity requirements to ensure an adequate supply of truck power and trailers
Collaborate with LP and DC Ops to identify data errors in YMS to assist with validating yard checks
Manage and oversee yard service in partnership with the DC Operations to ensure proper staffing of drivers to support the business needs
Oversee the scheduling movements of RTV, misroutes, and misdirects using LTL or other carriers as needed
Manage new and relocation store openings by coordinating with DC, LP, SC, Store Leadership for pre-opening deliveries
Review and approve Yard Service invoices in collaboration with DC Finance
Manage yard flow and capacity by ensuring correct trailer pool levels and identifying unproductive empties to remove in partnership with carriers
Implement all aspect of our Peak strategy to ensure successful Peak season and year-end inventory execution
Lead logistics team in executing daily logistics tasks around scheduling, reporting, auditing, for approval of detention and bobtails
Minimal Required Skills:
A minimum of 3- 5 years' experience in Logistics or Supply Chain
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field
Experience leading and managing teams
Ability to work cross functionally to deliver results
Understanding of distribution center operations
Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of transportation management systems and other logistics software
Analytical and problem-solving mindset
Financial acumen
Ability to influence without authority

This position has a starting salary range of $83,100.00 to $106,000.00 per year. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual incentive as well as long-term incentives.
