Position summary

  • Applies fertilizers and other products to lawns according to customer program, safety procedures, and label instructions. Cares for sod plants grass seeds as needed.

  • Evaluates and diagnoses lawn problems. Resolves service issues accordingly.

  • Efficiently manages schedule (by keeping "In-Branch" time to 30 minutes or less in the morning and 45 minutes or less in the afternoon, by working within route analysis specifications, by timely responses to customer instructions and requests for telephone and in-person service calls, etc.).

  • Sells, cross-sells, or up-sells Full Program Equivalent services or otherwise generates sales to current customers through contact on route.

  • Effectively communicates via handwritten customer notes, Tru-Trak, production reports, new sales and customer invoice forms, daily vehicle inspection report, and cancel/skip notices daily as required.

  • Performs a daily three-minute, 360-degree inspection of truck and equipment before taking the vehicle out on the road and upon return. Maintains vehicle and equipment through cleanliness, safety, and general maintenance.

  • May measure the lawn of potential customers to provide them with an accurate cost of TruGreen's lawn care service.

  • May drive company vehicle to commercial customer location.

  • May assist in maintaining facility cleanliness. May fill vehicle tanks with TruGreen product. May operate heavy equipment in the aeration, seeding, fertilizing, etc. of lawns.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED or 6 months to 1-year related experience and/or training in horticulture and/or customer service or equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • Attainment of license and/or certification may be required according to federal, state, or local government regulation

  • Requires extensive local driving. Valid, permanent driver's license from state of residence and a clean driving record per company standards are required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical card. Must be 19 years of age by date of hire.

  • Competent in subject matter, principles, knowledge, and concepts.

  • Generally considered a specialist in the area of assignment.

  • Able to perform the full scope of activities associated with job which includes the most difficult aspects.

Adverse Conditions:

  • Subject to outdoor weather conditions which may include extreme cold, extreme heat, or wet conditions

  • Subject to exposure to animals and insects

  • Regularly exposed to chemicals using appropriate safety equipment

  • Occasionally work near mechanical or moving parts

Ability to speak, read and write fluently in English is required.

Pay Ranges

$31,819.00 - $58,865.00

This range is based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate's skills, experience, and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. The upper end of the range will generally be reserved for candidates with extensive experience. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. In addition to monetary compensation, we offer benefits, including Medical/Dental/Vision insurance and Company-matching 401(k) in addition to other programs and perks.
