This Role will be responsible for all aspects of UKG's indirect tax compliance and indirect tax reporting in every geography where UKG operates. Responsibilities are expected to include, but will not be limited to, the following:
• Partner with non-tax groups (IT, Accounts Receivable, etc.) to align UKG's tax systems/processes with all significant upstream systems/business/process changes;
• Enhance the indirect tax processes of newly acquired subsidiaries to meet UKG standards, and proactively address any pre-acquisition risks identified by due diligence;
• Stay up-to-date on any indirect tax regulatory changes -- through both independent research as well as maintaining relationships with external advisors -- and update UKG's systems/processes when required to comply with such changes;
• Serve as the second level reviewer for all material indirect tax accounts in UKG's General Ledger;
• Prepare UKG's FAS 5 workpapers and reconcile the related General Ledger accounts;
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements, automations, and cash tax savings;
• Partner with UKG's internal tax controversy team as needed to manage indirect tax audits; and,
• Assist customer facing teams with any tax questions or concerns that arise.
Minimum Experience & Qualifications:
• Required - 8 or more years of full-time, post graduate tax experience. A JD, LLM, MSA or MST can replace 1 year of this work experience requirement.
• Required - familiarity with at least one major indirect tax engine (Thomson Reuters, Avalara, Vertex, etc.).
• Required - proven/consistent ability to handle complex, non-recurring indirect tax matters with limited oversight.
• Strongly Preferred - significant prior transaction tax experience (i.e., U.S. Sales & Use Tax, VAT, GST).
• Strongly preferred - ability to work in person at one of UKG's headquarter locations (Lowell, MA and Weston, FL) at least 2 days per week.
• Preferred - licensed CPA.
• Preferred - prior work experience with a large public accounting firm, a large law firm, or a large multinational corporation.

The pay range for this position is $129,500.00 to $175,000.00, however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive and a long-term incentive as part of total compensation.
