    Main Ingredients of the Job

    • Coordinate driver activities and shuttle assignments to resolve service issues and minimize overtime, downtime, and hours of service violations. Complete attendance trackers and verify that drivers are using Omnitracs properly.

    • Ensure that customer's needs are being met in a prompt and professional manner and escalate issues (late dispatch, breakdown, other service failures) to managers and sales force. Reassign routes as needed to solve service issues , and ensure that drivers are logging in and utilizing Proof of Delivery scanner.

    • Coordinate trailer, tractor, and backhaul assignments to support efficient logistics operations.

    • Visually inspect each driver's appearance to verify that drivers are in proper uniform and have required PPE.

    • Notify the manager / supervisor in charge and the safety specialist in the event of a vehicle accident or driver injury.

    What you bring to the table

    • Minimum one year of transportation or logistics experience.

    • Effective communication both verbally and in writing.

    • Excellent telephone and customer service ability.

    • Math, analytical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.

    • Basic computer skills with a good knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.

    • Problem solving and critical thinking abilities to solve problems of limited scope.

    • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to support others in the department and division.

    • High school diploma or GED/equivalent required.

    • Prior dispatcher experience preferred.

    • Knowledge of DOT Hours of Service Regulations and driver logs is highly preferred.

    • Knowledge of our geographic delivery area is highly preferred.
