Meredith Rossignol, Program Manager II at Renaissance Learning — a global leader in assessment, reading and math solutions for pre-K–12 schools and districts committed to accelerating learning for all— is no stranger to tackling obstacles. “I love being able to dig into complex problems and find innovative ways to solve them,” she said. And, at Renaissance, she gets to use her problem-solving skills to make a real difference. “Renaissance is an industry leader involved in shaping the educational landscape nationwide,” Rossignol says. As a result, employees know that their contributions will help make a positive impact in the world.
That’s not all she loves about her job, either! “It’s especially exciting that I get to work cross-functionally and learn from so many accomplished and intelligent people around me,” she elaborates. As a program manager on their sales operations team, a role she recently transitioned into from being a seller herself, Rossignol trains sellers and rolls out new initiatives that support her company’s world-class sales team. She’s also currently project managing an onboarding process for new sellers.
Here, Rossignol shares more about her passion for her company and her team members, as well as her best advice for others who want to grow their careers.
If you’d like to advance your career, Rossignol suggests starting by working on being confident in your professional accomplishments. “As women, we are too often taught to be humble, and, while humility is an important quality, advancing your career requires some self-promotion,” she explains. “If you’re proud of something you’ve done, don’t be afraid to share that.”
In addition to self-confidence, finding a company that’s supportive of you and your skills — as well as one that will help you continuously grow — is imperative. Luckily for Rossignol and her colleagues, Renaissance offers up this exact culture.
“The culture at Renaissance is one of my favorite things about working here,” Rossignol notes. For example, Renaissance has multiple employee resource groups (ERGs) that help employees “build each other up and learn from one another,” explains Rossignol. These ERGs include the Renaissance Black Employee Network, Workin’ Moms of Renaissance, and Growing and Including Neurodiversity.
“We also have several women in senior leadership positions,” says Rossignol, “which speaks to Renaissance’s commitment to building women up.” If you are a woman looking to grow your career, Renaissance is here to help you do it. “Renaissance prioritizes hiring women into leadership positions, and I’ve had several great women mentors in my time here,” Rossignol reflects.
But what if you’re earlier in your career? Rossignol has advice for you, too. “Early career job seekers should come in with curiosity and a willingness to learn,” she recommends. “Renaissance has been a leader in the education industry for decades, so there will be many opportunities to learn from experts. There are also multiple clear growth opportunities.”
No matter where you are in your career journey, Renaissance is a great place for you to start or grow a career at a place where you can really make a difference while working with supportive colleagues. Does this sound interesting to you? Apply to a position today via the link below!
