When I was going through a difficult time in college, my mom sent me two weeks' worth of tiny gifts and put dates on the wrapping paper, telling me to unwrap one gift per day. Every day, I got a little surprise — lip gloss, a small bottle of lotion or a single Lindt chocolate — and I would be happy, even just for five minutes, knowing how much my mom cared. The day after I had a particularly painful breakup, my mom, a dedicated psychologist who will never retire from her job, took off from work to make me hot chocolate and watch "The Daily Show" with me.
As it turns out, many mothers and daughters have similar stories. Mother-daughter relationships are some of the closest relationships many of us have ever had.
It's not Mother's Day yet, but that doesn't mean we can't celebrate moms with some of our favorite mom quotes! Here are 20 inspirational quotes about motherhood from mothers who love their role and daughters who love their built-in best friends.
