Serena Williams seems like the best mom ever to 1-year-old Olympia. But despite boasting some serious parenting chops, she's not ready to give advice to best friend Meghan Markle quite yet.
In an interview with BBC journalist Sally Nugent ahead of Wimbledon, the tennis star shared that she's keeping her parenting advice to herself — for now. Why? According to Williams, the pressure on new moms is more than enough without their friends breathing down their throat.
"I never pass on words of wisdom, because I feel like everyone when they have a kid, especially when you just have a baby, it's so difficult to just be," Williams said. "It's just like, get through the first three months, four months, and then we can talk."
We're sure Markle appreciates the space, especially considering the attention she gets on a near-constant basis from the press regarding her parenting decisions. Markle has said she is done "playing by the rules" of royalty (and royal parenting) because she gets so much criticism. Fair and fair that Williams doesn't want to be part of the pile on.
Still, it will be great to have Serena Williams around in a few years when Markle starts having questions about Archie's terrible twos. That is, if kids in the palace are allowed to misbehave? Oh, wait. His father is Harry. Of course he's allowed to be a little bad.
