Finding your professional passion takes time — and is rarely a straightforward journey. For example, take Kastine Evans, a former student-athlete who is now an account executive at ServiceNow. Evans always believed she would spend her career in athletics. However, her life took a different path when she found herself pursuing a career in enterprise technology sales at ServiceNow.

“ServiceNow drew my attention because of its core values,” Evans explains. Thanks to these values and ServiceNow’s culture, Evans has been empowered to align her career with her purpose: community involvement.

Throughout her entire life, Evans has been involved in her communities and has fostered a great appreciation for life and the people around her. “This desire to be present and help those around me was driven by my parents,” says Evans. “Their continued investment in their communities motivates me to continue to have a purpose-driven career and use my tools, skills, and resources to create opportunity and a better quality of life for others.”

Curious about how she's following her passions? Here, we’ll explore the innovative work Evans is taking part in to fulfill her purpose — all while helping ServiceNow make the world work better for everyone.

Finding passion by empowering nonprofit organizations with ServiceNow.org.

As part of their commitment to helping organizations work faster, smarter, and more efficiently, ServiceNow has assembled a team of experts who understand the unique needs of nonprofits. This team is known as ServiceNow.org, and they are dedicated to bringing the transformational capacity of technology to nonprofit organizations worldwide to drive even greater impact and help solve the world’s greatest challenges.

In her role as an Account Executive, Evans showcases the power technology can have in helping nonprofits succeed with the mission-critical work they do to support communities around the world — spanning everything from disaster deployment to refugee resettlement. “My work helps nonprofits maximize their resources and ensure they are used where they are needed most,” elaborates Evans. “Through this work, we can get more nonprofits engaged in digital transformation and make the world work better for everyone by helping nonprofits achieve their missions.”

One example of Evans' work at ServiceNow.org occurred when she assisted a nonprofit looking to create efficiencies in their food distribution network and reduce food insecurity among their beneficiaries. The nonprofit increased efficiencies by using ServiceNow’s technology, saving precious time that the nonprofit could now use to focus on fundraising, identifying communities of need, and determining how to strategically approach to their mission. From this experience, Evans was able to directly see the power ServiceNow.org’s work can have on nonprofits.

And this important work is just getting started for Evans and her team. “Everyone’s commitment to the team's success is inspiring and motivates me to keep finding ways to support this organization,” she says. “As our team matures, the possibilities are endless for the work we will support moving forward.” We’ve only seen the beginning of how Evans and the rest of the ServiceNow.org team can help nonprofits excel!

How to find a purpose-driven career and inspire others to do the same.

Evans tells us that people need to jump on opportunities where their passions align with their work. As she says, “it’s not often these two paths cross, but if you are true to your passions and values, there will be times when you can do both at the same time. When your work no longer feels like work, you are living out your purpose in life.”

Looking back on her career journey, she also muses that while working is something we have to do, finding a job that aligns with your passions is "the icing on the cake." So, never be afraid to take that next step in your journey toward fulfilling and purpose-filled work!
