A commitment to diversity, inclusion and doing good.

To create an environment where employees of all backgrounds can thrive, White & Case promotes a culture of respect, support, acceptance and belonging. Their goal is to create a culture “where all people feel accepted for who they are, experience a sense of belonging and are empowered to unite across differences,” the firm says.

Their work in this area includes advancing women in their firm. As part of this, they have a Global Women’s Initiative that is dedicated to developing and retaining women leaders and providing them with the experiences and tools that they need to succeed in leadership roles. There are currently 26 women’s networks with engagement in 41 offices.

White & Case also provides dedicated programs to help women and other employees grow and develop their careers. These include: a Leadership Speaker Series, a sponsorship program for women on potential tracks for partnership, executive coaching, a Senior Development Program, a Women Partners Forum and other programs to support women in business development and preparing for leadership roles.

The Firm has also “made great progress in enhancing its diversity, and received Mansfield Rule Certification Plus in 2021, 2020 and 2019 from Diversity Lab, following receiving Mansfield Rule Certification in 2018, its inaugural year,” says the firm. Further, “The Firm received Women in Law Empowerment Forum certification as a Gold Standard Firm in the US and UK in 2020,” and they were recognized “for Tipping the Scales by the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance, for having 50% or more women in [their] 2020 US-based new partner class.”

As part of empowering their workforce, White & Case also offers ten Affinity Networks and five Learning Clubs to create global communities for their people. These networks and clubs are dedicated to identifying personal and professional development and networking opportunities, as well as to providing chances to raise concerns, address challenges, provide feedback and advocate for change.

Helping the world around them.

And, White & Case isn’t only dedicated to doing good by their employees, they aim to do good by the world as well. For instance, the Firm pursues racial justice and equality, aims to fight injustice and advocates for LGBT+ equality and inclusion.

Further, their Global Citizenship Initiative describes their role as active participants in the global community. Through this initiative, employees and the company as a whole take part in pro bono work, legal education efforts, volunteer programs, charitable contributions and their responsible business practices, which include their responsibilities as signatory to the UN Global Compact and environmental sustainability initiative.

Using this initiative, the firm fulfills their responsibilities to the global community with the greatest possible impact.
