White & Case’s strength is our people. We strive to create an environment where everyone feels accepted for who they are. We commit to a culture of equal opportunity, respect and belonging.
Attracting diverse talent requires a concerted effort to communicate the Firm's commitment to diversity and inclusion, and the support it provides to employees and their development. Our work has substantially increased awareness of the Firm and its commitment, and the number of applicants we are able to recruit.
The Firm has made great progress in enhancing its diversity, and received Mansfield Rule Certification Plus in both 2020 and 2019 from Diversity Lab, following receiving Mansfield Rule Certification in 2018, its inaugural year. The Firm received Women in Law Empowerment Forum certification as a Gold Standard Firm in the US and UK in 2020. We are one of 19 firms that qualified on every criterion in the US, and we are one of only five firms that qualified for both US and UK certification. We were recognised for Tipping the Scales by the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance, for having 50% or more women in our 2020 US-based new partner class.
White & Case is a global law firm with longstanding offices in the markets that matter today. Our on-the-ground experience, our cross-border integration and our depth of local, US and English-qualified lawyers help our clients work with confidence in any one market or across many. We guide our clients through difficult issues, bringing our insight and judgment to each situation. Our innovative approaches create original solutions to our clients’ most complex domestic and multijurisdictional deals and disputes. By thinking on behalf of our clients every day, we anticipate what they want, provide what they need and build lasting relationships. We do what it takes to help our clients achieve their ambitions.
Our goal is to retain and advance women, while helping them attain and succeed in leadership roles.
In 2009, we launched the partner-led Global Women’s Initiative, dedicated to developing women leaders and providing them with the experience and tools they need to succeed. This is supported by the grassroots activities of our 26 local Women’s Networks—which provide talent management and facilitate women supporting each other.
We also run a Leadership Speaker Series, a Sponsorship Program for Women on potential track for partnership, Executive Coaching, a Senior Development Program, a Women Partners Forum and programs to support women in business development and preparing for leadership roles.
