Becoming a working parent can be intimidating — but it’s not something that you have to tackle alone. As Aanchal Bharti, the Senior Success Manager, GSA at Sprinklr, discovered when she became a first-time mom: your support system is imperative!

And this support system can come from all around you. For instance, “my manager has been fully understanding of the change in my lifestyle since coming back from maternity and completely supports the need to alter my working hours to fit the needs of my daughter,” Aanchal tells us.

“I have also been able to manage expectations with my client and my team around my work hours,” she adds. “Fortunately, I have a great working relationship with both so they trust that I will deliver, no matter the change in my life needs.”

At home, Aanchal tells us that her husband is her anchor and biggest support system. “We have developed a schedule that works for us both and allows us to work full time as well as make ample time for the family,” states Aanchal.

As you can see, support is a core pillar of Aanchal’s success as a working parent. But what else does she consider imperative for working parents? Well, Aanchal’s three top tips for parents looking to find balance are:

  1. “Manage your expectations with your manager.

  2. Live up to your deliverables to earn trust —  internally and externally.

  3. Make it known to your clients that you have a family and child.”

Recently, Aanchal has even begun to create a group at Sprinklr where she, and other parents, can share advice like this and uplift one another! Read on to learn more about this group and how Sprinklr’s culture empowers parents like Aanchal.

To begin, let’s talk about Sprinklr’s ‘We Care’ employee resource groups. Can you tell us how these groups work and how they benefit employees?

We Care groups are a community — you feel like you belong and know that you’re not alone. You feel supported and receive incredible opportunities to meet inspiring people within the workplace.

You are currently working with the We Care: Women's lead to create a sub-group for Working Moms — that’s amazing! Can you tell us what inspired you to create this group?

Although the business was hugely supportive of me when I was returning from maternity leave, I still felt the need for a more structured plan on integrating back into the workforce after being off for a year.

So, I decided to start a group that would make new moms returning to work feel even more supported by sharing different guides, such as what’s changed in the business, how their team has evolved, and what childcare/healthcare benefits they can access. Further, this group will help connect them with other new mothers.

Once established, what do you envision will be the main benefits of having a Working Moms group at Sprinklr?

Support — a feeling of belonging! It’s hard enough being a new mom and dealing with all the changes in your life, so this group will hope to support these moms as much as possible at work.

Do you have any advice for other parents who are thinking of starting up similar support groups at their companies?

You need to have a genuine passion to support other colleagues. If you have that passion, go for it!

Finally, why do you think Sprinklr is a particularly great place to be a working mom?

Three key reasons are Sprinklr’s:

  • Flexibility

  • Remote work options

  • Healthcare

As you can see, Sprinklr is a great place to be as a working mom! Want to join the team? Check out open opportunities via the following link.
