I would recommend looking on LinkedIn for folks in the industry/job you want to learn about. Asking folks for a 20 minute informational interview is the best way to expand your network and success.

Adding onto Emily's comment, human are innately wired to help so utilize that! I you attended a college or university, a great way to find new folks in your new intended field is through the LinkedIn alumni tool. You can utilize LinkedIn's data in order to find someone you already have something in common with (alumni!) and then learn more about what they're doing.
