Just transitioned to a senior manager role and then COVID-19, help!
This is my first ever post and there's so much packed in my brain for it so I'll try to be brief(ish). In summary, after having served as an interim technology senior manager, I applied for and accepted a permanent position at another company as a technology senior manager.
I started in March of this year just days after my employer announced everyone was going to start working remotely. The employees were not accustomed to it and there were a ton of challenges along the way. Just as things had started to become more normalized for remote work, it became clear that there were going to be budgetary impacts and as a result, my position was eliminated.
So, the question I have is, how do I best market myself as a senior manager having successfully made that transition and having done that role for about a year (as an interim at one employer and a permanent employee at the other)? I get inquiries for my previous roles but have no desire to go back to doing them (which is why I transitioned away to begin with).
I've been working to update my resume and am trying to emphasize the work I've done as a senior manager, strategist, leader, manager and mentor to seemingly no avail. So I thought I'd post here and see what ideas folks have. I don't currently have my resume (or much else posted on FGB) but am happy to share more on an individual basis.
Thanks very much!
