Diligently seeking employment
I am a single mom of 2. I am struggling to find a job. When I search jobs on here, only Walmart pops up. And the job locations are an hour or more away. I have an Associates in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelors in Social Work. I just started CTU to work towards my MBA . I am also waiting for approval to complete a Software Engineering course.
Based on your experience it's hard to tell how exactly you can add value to an employer... do you want to be in education, social work, business or software engineering? They are all very different fields. I would suggest deciding on how you can add value based on your background and new learning, then make a list of 100 companies that can hire you, then connect with people at those companies on LinkedIn (find things in common with them like your alma mater). Thank them for connecting and ask them about their goals as you'd like to keep eyes and ears open on their behalf as you explore the path to your next career opportunity. Follow up with valuable info to meet their needs and showcase your expertise to them by posting articles frequently with an insightful comment. Ask if you can talk to them for 10 minutes about their experience at their company. During the call, mention you are looking for companies that can benefit from your ability to create X type of results, and want to validate that would be of interest to their company. It is a lot of work, but it is more likely to yield results than applying for jobs online - since only 10-20% of opportunities are posted. An important question: what do you want to do and where are you located?
I hope that you are running searches customized to your interests and location on Indeed, Glass Door, Simply Hired, Zip Recruiter, etc.
Google Conduent inc..they are hiring everywhere and they are hiring like crazy this time of year for all health insurance related jobs bc of the Annual Enrollment period that started yesterday. I work for Conduent and Humana is their client and there is so much overtime...it is chaos!
