Job Invite
I received an invite to apply to a position, which I did, and emailed the job poster, but I haven't heard anything back. Should I call and see what the status is?
I receive a lot of those invites through LinkedIn as well. With so many recruiters working to fill similar jobs, you can bet they sent that same invite to a lot of potential candidates. I would not be discouraged as it does take time for recruiters to answer all responses they get.
In the meantime, continue your search and apply for jobs you feel are a fit. I wish you all the best success!
Did they reach out to you via email or a network (i.e. LinkedIn)? I'd be sure to follow up via the medium they originally reached out to you. It certainly doesn't hurt to follow up if you haven't heard anything in a couple of days.
The invite came through LinkedIn. I called the poster of the ad and he really didn't know anything as it was his staff handling it. He didn't offer to transfer me or take a message: reviewing resumes - will get back. I feel like a wasted my time.
It's great you were able to connect with someone and get a bit of clarity. I don't think it's a waste of time - something still could come of it if they are in resume review stage.
And the silver lining is that your LI profile caught the attention of a hiring manager/recruiter, so that's a feather in your cap at the very least, and hopefully a hint of more to come.
I hope but at this point I'm running out.
If it's been more than a few days, I would email or call.
I think it depends! How long has it been since you haven't heard anything?
