How do I tell an employer who wants to offer me a job that I need them to wait for my answer until after I have a follow up interview with a different employer?

I have to agree, the tone of the offer email almost sounds like they're hedging their bets depending on how you answer. It would make my spidey sense kick up. What does your gut say?

The email is confusing. I know they like me, so why not just make the offer then? It would be a lot easier to respond to an actual offer then dance around this question. I think they are just not saavy...that's my sense.
