How can we prepare for an interview?
I always study the job posting. Starting with what the company is looking for, then I think about how my background aligns with their requirements. I write out my elevator pitch and practice it, I also utilized my network, websites like Glassdoor where people have talked about interview questions the company have asked in the past. I also utilized ChatGPT, where I may ask the questions “what are some interview questions that may be asked in an interview for (specific role/industry)” and i study them. I also have a “story toolbox” written in the STAR method in my notes where I have stories that I utilize in in interviews for “tell me a time when” interview questions.
All of that!
First Google the company news and check the industry.
Check the job objectives and job description and match your skills around it. Be ready with a reply for skills if any, which doesn't match. Check whether you have near experiences in your resume for those skills required by them. Prepare two lines on why you will be the best person for that job. What good you will do, if you are selected. Best wishes.
