I know that every job is not perfect and that Th grass is usually not greener. I’ve been telling myself that for many years. I got complacent of where I was. I wanted to grow but I wasn’t at my old place. I wanted to take this leap in learning something new. And because I thought this place was such a great fit, it was even a bigger disappointmentment. Yea I should update my resume again. The thing is that I no longer have any motivation.

Try to stay positive. Personally, I think you were smart to move on from a job where you felt so devalued. Ten years is a long time to be in a situation like that! Just because the job you are in now isn't what you had hoped it would be doesn't mean leaving your old job was the wrong decision. It sounds to me like what you are missing is the feeling of security that comes with what is familiar and the disappointment of another unsatisfying situation. You have learned from each of these experiences; use this knowledge as you look for your next job. I know the job search process is no fun (I've been in one for a LONG time), but at least you may feel better knowing that you are actively looking.

Thank you. You are absolutely right. I do miss the feeling of security and that I knew exactly what I had to do to get things done. Now, I’m the new guy tipping toeing and trying to find the best way to do things again, which is creating the awful long hours. The disappointment is there like you said since the whole job feels like a demotion. Yes, I’ll try to learn from this and continue to always actively look. This whole thing got me depressed and I felt like my personal life and lifestyle got disrupted in a bad way. Is there even a better job out there?

Yes, there is. But I understand that when you feel so down because of what you've been through, it can be hard to even imagine.
