Good Morning HR Professionals!
I am looking for some advice, I was recently laid off from my job of 8 years but have been a HR professional for 15+ years. I am 54 years old and taking a moment to refocus on what I want to do next. In my last role, I was primarily a Benefits Specialist. In your opinion, what other professions do you think would be good to transfer my HR experience/knowledge over to?
How long were you in benefits? What other areas of HR did you gain experience in? What is it you'd like to do?
I have been in benefits for 10+ years, however, for the past year that has been my specialized area (benefits only). In my 15+ years of HR, I have done recruitment, onboarding, performance management, benefits, payroll, and some compensation. I would like to continue my career in benefits, however, I am curious about other areas I can transfer my experience over to. I am an older worker, so of course my age is a concern for me having to seek employment at this time.
