Hi, I've been in progressive leadership roles within the tax field for 14 years.
The last 9 years have really focused more on tax accounting, SOX, tax technology and developing a team. I'm burnt out. This is my third tax role but I can't keep up with the hours anymore and I want a life outside the office. Has anyone in this group successfully transitioned out of tax into another role? I think my current title and the phrase "tax" scare people.
Tax consulting? I know it's still taxes, but it would give you perhaps a little more out of the office thing, with some travel, meet new people to network, etc. Law firms maybe could use your skills, too.
