Hello everyone, I’ve got some experience in nonprofits and the corporate world.

Happy to share my advice or guidance or experience if anyone needs that I like to give help as well as receive it I’m hoping that someone could give me some advice on pros and cons of trying to get into an HRBP role. Most of my work has been senior level HR director or employee relations and some companies I do function as the business partner can anyone share guidance on making that transition or is it a matter of getting in the right company where I’m truly a partner, regardless of title.

Hi everyone, It’s great to see a space where people both give and receive support — I really value that. Transitioning into an HR Business Partner (HRBP) role can be a great move, especially if you're looking to work more strategically with the business. Based on your experience as a senior HR director and in employee relations, it sounds like you already have a solid foundation for becoming a strong partner. In many cases, it’s less about the job title and more about the company itself — specifically whether they truly view HR as a strategic partner. Some organizations use the HRBP title but expect mostly administrative or operational work. Others may not use the title at all, but give you the space and influence to partner closely with leadership. If you’ve led initiatives that directly impacted business outcomes, those are great examples to highlight when positioning yourself for HRBP roles. More and more companies are recognizing the value of HR professionals who can drive culture, anticipate talent needs, and support leadership development — not just manage processes. Wishing you all the best as you explore this path! I’m happy to share more insights if helpful.
