How many moms out there are pumping in the office?
Any tips or cautionary tales? https://www.babylist.com/hello-baby/pumping-at-workMy previous company created a Mother's Room for new mommies who needed to pump at work. It was very organized, clean and safe space. The mothers had a key to the room, they used a scheduling system to know when the room was occupied and they had private fridge to store their milk (versus using the lunch room fridge).
Based on company size, the 29 usc 207(r)(4) requires a private space for pumping - make sure that the employer is fulfilling those obligations
We seriously need national paid maternity/paternity leave in the US.
Make sure there's an "occupied" sign on the room. Also, there should be a sign up sheet, and you should be able to report anyone using the room without signing up. It's fine if people use it for other things but the priority is mothers.

A couple of tricks I learned from a coworker who was pumping at the same time as me: put your pump parts in a closed container in the fridge during the day rather than fully cleaning them before day end. And if you forget your pumping bra but have a scarf on hand, you can kind of tie the pump on; it isn't ideal but makes it possible to work simultaneously. Blocking the time on your calendar so you don't have meetings is helpful too.
